Accessibility

A vertical lift will help you gain entrance to the main level of the building. The lift is located on the side of the building along Dufferin Avenue. During periods of extreme cold, the lift may be temporarily out of service.

Period rooms and exhibits are located on three floors of the museum. On the main level, you can watch a video tour of the historic house to see areas that are accessed by stairs.

An accessible washroom facility is located in an out building near near the vertical lift and adjacent to the parking lot. This accessible washroom also contains a baby change table. Public washrooms are available inside the museum but are not fully accessible. They are located in the lower level of the building and accessed by stairs.

Service animals are welcome in all public areas of the museum. If you have a non-traditional service animal please contact the Museum in advance of your visit. We may request documentation from a healthcare provider or proper service animal identification.

You can request American Sign Language interpretation for guided tours and public programs. A minimum of 15 days advance notice is required to ensure we are able to book an interpreter for you. In 2026, Glanmore will begin offering quarterly scheduled guided tours with ASL interpreter. Watch our website or social media accounts for details.

We waive the admission fee for attendants supporting persons with disabilities with the paid admission of the person they are supporting. Identification as a support person may be required.

If you need additional assistance or have further questions and concerns about accessibility at Glanmore National Historic Site, please contact the Museum at glanmoreinfo@belleville.ca or by calling 613-962-2329 ext. 3650
